Now the weather has finally started to warm up (slightly) we are out and about again monitoring the native reptile populations in the country park and surrounding areas.
The data we collect is shared with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Amphibian Reptile Group which is used to build up a picture of population health in the specific areas. This is also shared with the National Biodiversity Network Atlas, which is used by many organisations (such as planners) to determine what species are present in areas.
It was nice to see plenty of Slowworms on the last surveys.
